Finding Inspiration From Stillness

The Reset Station has been created by Dan Spencer and he developed the concept after listening to his wife talk about the pressure she and her work colleagues faced teaching in the local school. In a moment of stillness, he realised that they needed something that was easy to use and would help them find some peace in such a demanding situation, at the time they most needed it .

Feeling stressed and burnt out from work pressure was something Dan could well relate to as he’d worked as a contractor in the corporate world for many years but walked away from this in 2022 feeling burnt out.  He went on a journey of self-discovery, began a regular meditation practice, learnt about living in the present moment and started doing yoga every day, all of which helped him dramatically change the way he viewed life (much to the surprise of the people that knew him).

The key to being more peaceful is cultivating awareness of your thinking and this all begins with being conscious of your breathing.

When you become aware of your breathing, it takes attention away from your thinking and creates space, allowing you to reset your thoughts.

An Intent To Help Other People

Dan realised that if he’d known how to reset his thoughts by focusing on his breath and becoming the observer of his thoughts, he may not have got so stressed and ended up burnt out at work. But rather than return to contracting, he decided to try and help other people so started to develop the Reset Station.

Although Dan had learnt a lot about breath work and meditation and felt better for it, he was still at the start of his journey so when it came recording the audio that could help others he turned to Josephine Pridmore, who he had known for several years.
